Early Church Councils and Creeds

The Apostles' Creed - I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth; I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son,

Studying creeds of the church is a great way to learn of the history of the Church. Every creed is written to settle a controversy or to clarify some theological point.

Your Own Emotions Have Cut You Off from Us

3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; 4 do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. 5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, dbr, mythoughts, thoughtsofgod, thoughts of God

Most, if not all creeds, mark a clear point when a group, large or small, separated into its own group/division. Comparing one creed to the creed before it, on the same branch, we can see what the points of contention were between different believing groups.

Do Christians Believe in Miracles?

Miricles by David B Reese, mythoughts, As far as I can determine, people use the world 'miracle' when something is inexplicable and positive. We sense wonder in the inexplicable regularly. God is the foundation of every level of nature and all God does is withing its working. Augustine stated "Miracles are not contrary to nature, ut only contrary to what we know about nature

For a Christian ‘yes’ is the only answer to the question, “has God worked through miracles?” Christianity falls if miracles do not exist.
