One thing I like about this test for apptitude is that it does not expect every Christian to participate in contemplation. It is only when the Spirit of God stirs the desire, that one is called to contemplative prayer. As the Bible talks about how, we, as the body of Jesus, have varied roles. We all have different workings.
Contemplative prayer is a real asset in certain giftings and roles, while others are not as effected. As we are all called to be witnesses to Jesus, there are some of us with the specific gifting of evangelism. We are all called to pray without ceasing:
16 Rejoice always; 17Praywithout ceasing.18 in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 19Do not quench the Spirit; 20 do not despise prophetic utterances. 21 But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good;
And some are called to more. Some are called to sit at the feet of Christ, as did Mary, the sister of Lazarus, and enter into a specific relationship; "42 but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”
PS – Just as Ecclesiastes lists times for various things, contemplation can come at certain time in life and be hard at others.
