Look at the implications in this section from the Gospel of Matthew:

1. It is one thing to recognize and believe that some miracle worker is doing marvelous things.
2. It is yet another to thing to think that these miracles may be applied to oneself.
3. It is yet another to believe this miracle worker may heal your servant.
4. And again it is yet a different thing to think, this miracle worker is not a simple worker of miracles, but rather one who has command over many capable of the requested activity.

In the end the centurion not only believed that Christ could heal, that Christ would have compassion on his servant, that Christ had power over other messengers gifted with the required faith and abilities. The centurion starts his journey because of his compassion toward his servant.

Christ not only hears and acts on the cry of the centurion but exceeds the expectation and says, “I say to you that many will come from east and west, and recline at the table with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.”

Christ does not differentiate the fulfillment of either the healing or of the inclusion in the kingdom of heaven. Both were assured by Jesus, the one holding all authority that has substance.

Matthew 8:5 And when Jesus entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, imploring Him, 6and saying, “Lord, my servant is lying paralyzed at home, fearfully tormented.” 7Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.” 8But the centurion said, “Lord, I am not worthy for You to come under my roof, but just say the word, and my servant will be healed. 9“For I also am a man under authority, with soldiers under me; and I say to this one, ‘Go!’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes, and to my slave, ‘Do this!’ and he does it.” 10Now when Jesus heard this, He marveled and said to those who were following, “Truly I say to you, I have not found such great faith with anyone in Israel. 11“I say to you that many will come from east and west, and recline at the table with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven; 12but the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” 13And Jesus said to the centurion, “Go; it shall be done for you as you have believed.” And the servant was healed that very moment.

Miracles – to be expanded and separated later. I do not believe God works other than according to God’s very nature. Whether we are aware of the science involved or it is of energy and power we do not know, God knows and can apply.
