The Bible (TV Series) came to my attention toward the end of the series. I was staying in Tennessee with my sister for a few days before we continued on to Florida. She and her two sets of twins have been watching the series as a family. What was different than I would have expected was the children were the ones inquiring about watching the show. Yes, I know, I should say young ladies, they are in high school after all.

Compound Blessings Like Taxes, Just think, it could be blessings like taxes. The government received taxes on the same income or the same product more than once. Buy a car from a dealer, sell the car, the buyer resells the car- how many layers of tax? Joy and blessing could literally have more compounding than taxes. And with taxes, there is not the same likely hood of joy popping up in the process. mythoughts, thoughtsofgod, thoughts of God

After returning home, I had still not seen a single episode. Then, as I was flipping though the channels, I stopped on The FIVE. Among other talking points, I was intrigued by the market share conversation and the amount that The Bible had captured. Point being, there is a percent of people who will always want quality religious programming. The idea progressed. Looking at the pie (the demands/desires of a portion of the demographic) was just the first aspect. Before I get off topic further, this blog is not about Hollywood, government, or religion competing over public support.

I had still not seen an episode, but I have to admit, now I was interested. On Easter, the series came up in conversation around the table. We each knew people who had talked about watching the show. About that time we notice the series was being shown on the History Channel as we talked.

Finally, I actually caught some of the show. David and the temple caught my consideration. David was forbidden, by God, to be the builder of the temple. David was pictured in one scene, telling his son about the temple and and its construction. I thought, why wouldn’t it be a bigger blessing if you drew up the plans and your child was able to share in the completion.

This is the thought that provoked me to write this and “Passing the Flame.” How much expanded is the blessing of doing anything for God if we prepare or gather, and know another will have the joy of the labor. I am fairly sure that it is better to prepare for others, watching them having joy, than having it ripped away. There is something appealing about going from concept to product. I would not try to claim there is not. But think of the additional joy. You would almost certainly experience more pleasure watching someone you care for starting, gathering, completing, or reaping the fruit of something in the area where you have passion. And, another will receive a blessing as you support them. This can be anyone you would like to see gain new experience and blessing
